Summary:

A.W. Rahn's Your Work Abilities, How to Express and Apply Them Through Man Power Specifications, presented one of the most critical ideas in successful job hunting -- the development of a short, succinct list of things a prospective employee could do for the employer, based on specific events in the job seeker's background.  Rahn called these "work abilities," and the procedure he laid out for defining these are in use in one form or another in most successful job counseling services today.

Job seekers everywhere can benefit from reading about this revolutionary program that enabled people to find employment even during the Great Depression, and has spawned numerous similar approaches to job hunting since then.

What follows are links to the text from the original 1938 edition, with a star to indicate recommended chapters (some of the others contain largely social commentary). A disclaimer:  Rahn's language was not very gender-neutral, something we are certain he would have changed had he published the volume today.
